DEFIATORY emerged from the roots of the East Bay Area–inspired thrash metal scene, delivering straight, heavy riffs and razor-sharp aggression. Their debut album Extinct features eight tracks spanning 39 minutes, combining the spirit of early Megadeth, Exodus, and Metallica with a modern, hard-hitting thrash approach.

Following his departure from Aeon, Ronnie Björnström founded Defiatory in early 2015. Shortly after, Martin Runnzell joined on vocals, bringing a voice perfectly suited for the band’s aggressive direction. Within a week, the band recorded their first demo, Furor Unleashed.

After the release of Furor Unleashed, drummer Jon Skäre joined the lineup. During the summer of 2015, a new three-song demo, Aeons End, was recorded at Garageland Studios, marking the beginning of the songwriting process for the debut album.

In August, Defiatory continued developing material for Extinct. With the addition of lead guitarist Ludvig Johansson (Apostasy, Mesolimbic) and bassist Patrik Wall (Apostasy, Crowdburn), the lineup was complete. A release party took place on June 3rd, 2016, followed by a full live performance of the album the next day.
